Privacy Policy

The short version
Cyclewise has no account and no server of ours that stores your data. Your battery readings and settings stay on your iPhone. Screenshots are read on the device and are not kept. The app sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog, which you can switch off. It is free: no subscription, no in-app purchase. There are no ads, no tracking across apps, and we never sell data.
Who is responsible
Cyclewise is published by its independent developer, the seller shown on the App Store page, based in France. For anything about this policy or your data, write to amin2020e@gmail.com.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter or confirm in Cyclewise is stored only in the app's own storage on your device: your iPhone model, cycle counts and maximum capacity readings, the first-use date, the daily battery use you add, your goal, charge limit, replacement cost and currency, and your reminder settings. We cannot see this data and cannot recover it.
Like other app data, it can be included in your iPhone backups (iCloud or computer), according to your own backup settings with Apple.
Screenshots
When you choose a screenshot of Settings › Battery › Battery Health or Battery Usage, you pick it in the system photo picker. Cyclewise does not ask for access to your photo library: the picker only hands over the one image you chose.
Cyclewise reads the text in that image on your iPhone with Apple's Vision text recognition, shows you the numbers it found so you can confirm or correct them, then deletes its temporary copy of the image. Screenshots are never uploaded and never kept. Only the numbers you confirm are saved, on your device.
Anonymous usage statistics (you can switch them off)
To understand which parts of the app are used and to fix problems, Cyclewise sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, our analytics provider. Event names start with "cyclewise.", for example: the app was opened, an onboarding step was viewed or completed, the Support screen was opened, its Donate or Rate button was tapped, the system rating prompt was shown, a check-in was added (by screenshot or typed), a screenshot could or could not be read (with a reason such as "wrong screen"), the goal was changed, a charge-limit scenario was viewed, a source link or a warranty-card action was opened, reminders were scheduled.
Events can carry: the iPhone model you picked, a rough pace bucket (light, typical or heavy), the goal you set (for example 85% for 4 years), the charge limit you viewed, internal labels set by the analytics library (such as an access tier and an experiment group, which have no function in this free app), counters such as the number of launches and days since install, and the technical details the analytics library adds (a random identifier created on your device, app version, device model, iOS version, language).
Events never contain your cycle counts, capacity readings, daily battery percentages, the dates of your readings, your screenshots or any text read from them, your replacement cost, or your name, email or contacts. As with any internet request, PostHog receives the IP address the event is sent from.
We rely on our legitimate interest in improving the app. You can switch statistics off at any time in the app: Settings › Usage statistics. When it is off, no event is sent.
Donations and third parties
Cyclewise is free and sells nothing inside the app. It has a Donate button (and a link on our website) that opens a donation page in your browser. That page is run by a third-party payment provider, not by us and not by the app: it has its own privacy policy and terms, which apply there, and we do not receive your card details. The app sends nothing to that page beyond opening its address, and a donation is not linked to your usage statistics.
The only third party the app sends data to is PostHog (see above). Cyclewise does not use RevenueCat or any other purchase service: no purchase library is started.
Notifications
If you allow them, Cyclewise schedules local notifications on your iPhone: an evening note and a weekly check-in reminder. They are created by the app on the device. No push token is sent to us or to anyone else. You can switch them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
When you contact us or share
"Write to us" opens your own mail app: we receive only what you choose to send, and keep it to answer you. "Save proof" on the warranty card opens the iOS share sheet with a text summary of your own readings; you decide where it goes. "Contact Apple" and the source links open Apple's or the source's website, under their own privacy policies.
No ads, no tracking, no sale
Cyclewise contains no advertising, does not use the advertising identifier, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent any data.
Children
Cyclewise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Keeping and deleting data
To delete everything Cyclewise stored, delete the app from your iPhone: its readings and settings go with it (and from later backups).
Usage statistics are kept only as long as they help us improve the app. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you have rights under the GDPR (access, deletion, objection): write to amin2020e@gmail.com and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
